GHD began operating in Canada in April 2008. Located in Markham, 20km north of Toronto, GHD is servicing clients at the municipal, regional and provincial levels of government, in addition to the mining sector.

The focus of GHD’s growth in Canada will be centered on water and wastewater, transportation, environment and energy.

Feasibility Study on a Municipal Asset Information System - Saskatchewan Province

GHD was engaged by the Province of Saskatchewan’s Municipal Affairs Department, Canada, to conduct a feasibility study into a Municipal Asset Information System (MAIS).

Parks Asset Management Program - City of Kingston

GHD was engaged to develop a framework for sustainable asset management planning for parks for the City of Kingston in Ontario, Canada.

The project involved condition assessments of more than 200 parks, covering a large variety of assets including children’s playgrounds, green open spaces and sporting areas such as baseball diamonds. The assignment is believed to be the first of its kind to be delivered in Canada.

Colin James

Colin James has 15 years’ management, consultancy and construction experience. Colin has spent five years managing a design and construction firm in Norway in addition to his Canadian and Australian experience in water, mining, rail, roads and urban development. Colin combines his financial acumen with a diverse engineering background to assist in the evaluation and management of projects. Colin is the manager of GHD’s Canadian operations.
