Since November 2007, GHD has been on assignment as Holbrook's City Engineer. The company has provided consulting services on everything from small drainage problems to city-wide utility infrastructure mapping.

GHD is currently helping the city to rehabilitate its existing drinking water storage tanks. The company is also managing the city’s hydrology consultant and coordinating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the US Army Corps to certify its existing levees.

In the summer of 2008, GHD provided review, bidding and construction phase services for the First Avenue Community Development Block Grant project, funded by a grant from the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH).  The project involved construction of replacement sewer lines and ADA sidewalk ramps in the downtown area. The ADOH program specialist said, “GHD provided excellent engineering and administration skills to this project. They were focused and organized with all aspects of the project and guided it toward a successful and timely completion.”

In fall 2008, GHD provided plan review, bidding and construction phase services for the Holbrook Municipal Airport Fencing Project. The project was funded by a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Arizona Department of Transportation, and involved construction of 30,000 linear feet of chain link fence to increase security at the airport.  In addition to administering the design and construction phases of the project, our work included coordination with FAA for grant administration and draw down.
