Mr Stewart is a registered civil engineer with
25 years' experience in the water and wastewater industry. His
managerial experience is demonstrated by assignments encompassing
advanced asset management, risk assessment studies and management
consulting services to senior utility management across North
America. In addition, Mr Stewart has over 10 years'
experience as a design and construction manager for two large
publicly-owned treatment works, as well as 8 years' experience in
water supply at the US Bureau of Reclamation and the California
State Water Resources Control Board. He also has several years'
experience in municipal engineering as a city engineer for two
California cities.
From 2001 to 2006, Mr Stewart was responsible
for establishing an agency-wide asset management program for Orange
County Sanitation District (OCSD), the sixth largest
publicly-owned treatment works in the United States located in
Fountain Valley, California. His responsibilities at OCSD
covered all aspects of the district’s business practices related to
asset management from capital expenditures to operations and
maintenance.
Mr Stewart has been an instructor for the
asset management workshops sponsored by the US Environmental
Protection Agency since inception of the program in 2003. He
has personally conducted over 20 two-day workshops across the
United States.
