GHD shortlisted for sustainable interior architecture award

GHD’s Sydney office at Piccadilly Tower has been short-listed for a Dulux Colour Award in the category of Sustainable Interiors.

The 3 level fitout accommodates 350 people, primarily in open plan with supporting facilities including a large breakout and training facility for both staff and client use. The design aimed to create a warm and inviting space for both staff and visitors while engaging sustainable design principles.

GHD is one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and environmental consulting firms. The Sydney office has operated for nearly 80 years and moved premises in September 2009.

A team from the GHD Sydney's interior architecture, building services and project management groups collaborated to create a space adhering to sustainable standards in an innovative corporate fit-out.

The intent was a corporate, professional space for formal interactions with clients, reinforcing the company image as a global professional services provider. The staff areas aim to reflect a different focus, designed to provide a relaxed and playful environment which fosters creativity and innovation. Colour plays an integral role in differentiating these spaces.

The fitout is registered for a Green Star Office Interiors Rating and is targeting a 4 star rating.

GHD Sydney Office Manager David Kinniburgh said, “GHD is proud to showcase the talent of our people in the new premises. The outcome of the new space is a tribute to the variety of services we offer.”

The awards will be announced in Melbourne on 31 March.
